Data collected

We do not ask you for any personal information on this website. There are no forms, no accounts, and no sign-up.

Internet Solutions HK hosts this website on its shared hosting service in Hong Kong. When you visit, the server typically processes a standard technical log. A typical log entry may include:

• the internet protocol (IP) address of the device making the request,
• the date and time of the request,
• the address of the page or file requested,
• the referring page, if your browser sends one,
• basic details of your browser and operating system (the user agent string).

Hong Kong data protection

Phillan Limited is registered in Hong Kong and is a data user under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486). The Ordinance is enforced by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD).

The Ordinance sets out six Data Protection Principles covering the collection, accuracy and retention, use, security, and openness of personal data, and the right of access to it. As they apply to this website:

1. 01Collection. The personal data collected is the technical log described above and information you choose to include when emailing us. The log is collected because delivering a web page requires it; nothing further is asked of you.
2. 02Retention. Technical logs and email correspondence are kept only for as long as needed to operate the site, respond to you, or meet a legal obligation. Internet Solutions HK makes weekly backups and retains the three latest copies. Those backups may contain technical log or email data.
3. 03Use. Log data will be used to deliver and protect the site, not for marketing or direct marketing.
4. 04Security. If a service provider processes data on our behalf, we will take practicable steps to ensure it protects the data against unauthorised or accidental access, loss, erasure, use or disclosure.
5. 05Openness. This policy is our statement of practice, published so that anyone can read it without asking.

We will handle requests in accordance with the Ordinance, normally within 40 days where applicable. The Ordinance permits a data user to charge a fee that is not excessive for providing a copy. We do not intend to charge for a request relating to this website.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request or a complaint, you may complain to the PCPD at pcpd.org.hk.

Retention

Technical logs and email correspondence are kept only for as long as needed to operate the site, respond to you, or meet a legal obligation. Phillan Limited does not maintain a separate long-term copy of technical logs. Internet Solutions HK makes weekly backups and retains the three latest copies. Those backups may contain technical log or email data.

Sharing

Its support team confirms that this shared-hosting service, including website files, access logs, backups, email messages and mail logs, is hosted in Hong Kong. Its published policy says it may use service providers, including email-delivery providers.
